Snooty Fox

Good Morning, We have just returned from a wet and windy week on Snooty Fox. The boat was very clean and well presented, comfortable beds with nicely pressed linen. It was warm and well equipped with a full size cooker and fridge. We are used to boats but have never been on a narrow boat before. The tuition and induction was clear and relevant and the lock instruction and demonstration invaluable. Your staff are very well informed, friendly and helpful. We came to you on a recommendation from a friend and would certainly recommend you to others. Also, your fleet are the smartest on the canal!

This was our first time on a narrowboat, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to the professional introduction (given by Mike) and all the conveniences the boat offered. It took no time for the boys to drive the boat smoothly, to go through locks and to open/close bridges. Everything was professional from providing information before, during and after the journey, both verbally and written till facilities and equipment. The manual was especially useful - finding nearby pubs. We can highly recommend Foxhangers to anyone going on a narrowboat holiday.

We really enjoyed our holiday on Snooty Fox. The narrowboat was the perfect size for four people. We had everything that we needed on the boat including all the kitchen utensils etc. I felt the whole operation was run really professionally. We were given a short demonstration on the boat which was fine as we are “seasoned” narrowboat users. I would highly recommend Foxhangers to anyone who wants to go on a canal holiday.

Initial tour of the boat and instruction was very professional and thorough. Snooty Fox was beautifully presented and well equipped. We had a lovely relaxing week and thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of canal boating. Thank you Foxhangers - we can thoroughly recommend you.

We've just returned from a week on Snooty Fox and Urban Fox. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Come rain or shine, the boats were comfortable & easy to navigate. Foxhangers were fantastic. They gave us really good instructions, advice & were on hand should we have got into any difficulties on the trip. I would recommend hiring a narrow boat through Foxhangers : )

Friendly welcoming staff, arrival and departure arrangements speedy and efficient. Clear and concise instructions were given. We enjoyed our two weeks with Snooty Fox in spite of the weather and would recommend Foxhangers to anyone.

Everything from start to finish was superb! The lady at Reception was so kind - both in person and on the phone. To get the phone call before the holiday, making sure that we were happy with the arrangements, was so thoughtful; her reaction to us phoning to say we would be arriving late because of traffic was so understanding and the welcome she extended to us when we eventually arrived, was wonderful. The two gentlemen who showed us the workings of the boat were very pleasant , friendly and patient. Without that introduction we would have found it difficult to cope. The boat, Snooty Fox, was in wonderful order - very clean and tidy with everything on board we could have wanted. The extra gifts of wine, chocolates and the Captain's Mug were a delight to find. (We could have done without my grand daughter's broken thumb but I think that was probably our fault!) To finish with, the weather that week was the best of the summer - hot with no rain! Thank you to everyone who contributed to a wonderful experience. We will certainly recommend Foxhangers to all our friends.

Dear Foxhangers, Thank you for a great holiday.  I have attached a few photos which you are welcome to use as you wish.   The handover procedure was very thorough and informative, explaining the key aspects of the boat.  The manual on the boat was a useful reminder when we needed reassurance.  The boat was in great condition and well equipped with all the essentials needed for the trip.  There was ample storage which was appreciated.  We were blessed with fantastic weather through our week aboard, making it all the way to Bristol Floating Harbour and back without a hitch.  Our favourite part of the trip was being on the Avon beyond Bath, particularly the final stretch from Hanham Lock to Bristol which was just idyllic.     We have had a number of family canal boat holidays previously but this was the first time with our dog, Flynn who loved it.  He was very much at home laid down on the stern, supporting the Skipper.    Maybe next time we should head east, although this may be a tougher challenge with the number of locks! Had a wonderful time on the Kennet and Avon canal with the Snooty Fox.  Didn't have any problems with the boat and it was in an excellent condition.  I couldn't find fault with Foxhangers, the introduction to the boat and its operation was great as was the DVD we were sent beforehand. I would definitely use them again.

To whom it may concern, With reference to our recent holiday on the Foxhangers barge the "Snooty the fox". We would like to thank the very professional manner of all the staff, from the first point of booking with your extremely friendly and helpful receptionist and booking agent. The barge was very well equipped, and we had no problems with any mechanical issues. We enjoyed all the friendly barge owners along the canal, and would recommend this as a holiday to all, ages. Many thanks to the entire Foxhangers team for facilitating a wonderful holiday. All of the staff we dealt with were friendly and very helpful, especially when we had to change the booking for a larger boat, when more people joined the party. The handover process was thorough without being too intense.  For a crew of novice boaters it was pitched just right - employed particularly appreciated the request to try to return the boat with the green side uppermost :-) I cannot fault the boat at all. It was thoroughly clean and well maintained - everything worked exactly as it should - with comprehensive information provided on board covering pretty much every aspect of both the boat and canal. Little extra touches like the local shop delivering groceries to the boat prior to our arrival, and the little 'welcome on board' gift were really appreciated. It has been a  real struggle adapting back to the pressures of work after such an enjoyable and peaceful week conducted at walking-pace.

My personal thanks go to everyone at Foxhangers who contributed to a the extremely friendly and helpful experience before, during and after the event.  I am confident that no other boat hire company could have exceeded the service and quality that you provided.

I recently spent the summer half term on the Snooty Fox with my three children (15/13/12) travelling west towards Bristol.  This was our first ever venture on a canal boat and it was an inspired choice.  Foxhangers made the whole process from booking to hand over as easy and stress free as one could get which made the rest of the holiday very easy.  My children really enjoyed the challenge of piloting the boat and negotiating the locks and were in complete control after only a few days.  The boat itself was in very good order, well stocked and very comfortable so we never felt as if we were roughing it.  There were plenty of good memories to take away from this holiday and I would definitely use Foxhangers again.

On our return home we commented the bed had been the most comfortable she had slept in on any of the narrowboat holidays we have taken over the past 30 years. We were surprised at the speed at which we negotiated the 16 lock flight.  Just over 2hours on the ascent, and, with the help of 2 CRT volunteers, under 2 hours on the descent! We might see you next year - weather permitting!
