4 - 7 Berth Narrowboat, Foxy Class

Foxtrot is a medium sized boat ideal for families, groups of friends or couples who want plenty of space. A member of our superbly equipped Cruiser style Foxy Class.

At 60ft(18.3m) long she has a bow deck with space to socialise and a Cruiser stern deck which is popular with young families and the less mobile as it offers easier stern access and a seating bench around the stern safety rail for up to 4 people to enjoy during non-cruising times.

We would like to say that we had a fantastic week aboard Foxtrot. Me and my husband booked the midweek break for his 60th birthday and we had a wonderful time. The boat was very well equipped and to our surprise the double bed was very comfortable. The boat was very clean and the staff could not have been more helpful. The whole experience from booking to returning the boat was dealt with very professionally. We will definitely book again and are already planning our next canal boat holiday. Thank you Foxhangers guys xx

Captain Cpt Karen Bass, Foxtrot June 2021

Just a quick thank you to all the Foxhangers staff for a splendid week trip along the Avon and Kennet canal. This trip took the place of a luxury villa in Rhodes, which we were unable to take due to the Covid pandemic. An unfair comparison as both breaks are so different and offer such alternative kinds of enjoyment and experiences. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time!! The barge (Foxtrot) was very comfortable for the four of us. Two of our party had never been on a canal break before, and had nothing but praise for the barge and the way in which it was perfectly suited to our needs. We would definitely recommend this kind of break, pandemic or not, as a fantastic way to get away and relax, spend time with friends, over a drink or two, and enjoy the beautiful scenery this part of the country has to offer. Thanks again Foxhangers, we will see you again I have no doubt.

Captain Cpt Simon Collinson, Foxtrot May 2021

Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. Everything about our trip was perfect. The bed was super comfortable, and all necessities were inside the barge for us. We had the weather and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A very special thank you to all staff at Foxhangers especially ‘Patrick’ ‘Pat’ for taking us out for a few hours as we were nervous going it alone for the first time. This holiday was arranged and booked by our children for our 60th birthdays and early Ruby wedding anniversary present and we couldn’t have spent it better in any other way. Thank you Foxhangers for the special memories.

Captain Cpt Trevor Hynam, Foxtrot April 2021

Dear team at Foxhangers We were a family of six adults We found the whole experience really enjoyable Lots of laughs We learnt a lot. The canal was very picturesque The barge had everything we needed and was very clean Thank you very much Great memories

Captain Jessica Sales, Foxtrot September 2020

We had a lovely few days with family on the comfortable Foxtrot barge. Thoroughly cleaned and so peaceful to just glide along spotting wildlife. The children (12 and 6) enjoyed getting involved with the mechanics of it all and they slept well in the bunkbeds at night - all the fresh air obviously. Super, professional team here at Foxhangers. Even with social distancing in place - this holiday wasn't too difficult to achieve at all.

Captain Mr Lees-Rawlinson, Foxtrot July 2020

This was a weekend break planned to celebrate significant birthdays and anniversaries across three generations but was held on tenterhooks by Covid-19 and the cautious lifting of lockdown measures. Foxhangers couldn’t have been more helpful through all the uncertainty, offering us four quality boats so that all four families could enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime get-together as we emerged out of lockdown. The knowledgeable staff, the training and handover all gave us the confidence to make the most of our time which we did, leaving us with unforgettable memories and the pleasure of being able to recommend such a generous, efficient and considerate company.

Captain Donald Hunter, Foxtrot July 2020

Thank you for providing a warm welcome and a clean and tidy boat for our visit to the K & A. We had a lovely week exploring this canal.

Captain Lindsay Hardern, Foxtrot June 2019

A Fantastic weekend aboard Foxtrot was had by all 4 of us. The Induction was impressively detailed with all the information in a backup manual on board. The boat itself was immaculately clean and facilities were as described with everything we needed for our long weekend. We enjoyed the boating and built up experience with managing the locks with a sense of great satisfaction as novices with achieving it all! Having groceries delivered to the boat by the community shop was an additional bonus and all of a very high standard. The trip from Foxhangers wharf to Bradford on Avon was a lovely run - a beautifully, picturesque stretch of the river. Disembarkation at the end of the trip was smooth and quick with a friendly face to guide us in. All the staff we had contact from the booking process onwards were friendly, welcoming and professional. The only drawback was the experience was over too soon!!! We’ll be back. Thanks so much. It was a delightful experience.

Captain Mr Carroll, Foxtrot August 2019

Please thank all your staff for a fantastic 5-day trip. The first narrowboat trip for our 2 grandchildren, who especially enjoyed boating.

Captain Denise simpkins, Foxtrot August 2019

I've just got home from Wiltshire, and the weekend spent on Foxtrot and Tibetan Fox with several friends celebrating one of our groups 50th birthday. I’ve used Foxhangers before so knew what to expect, but can I just pass on how fantastic those members of the group who had never been on a barge before found the whole experience. They were really impressed by how luxurious, comfortable and well equipped the barges were, as well as the really helpful brief from your staff before we sailed off. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience.

Captain Simon Collinson, Foxtrot

We have just got back from 6 days on board Foxtrot from Foxhangers From the booking service and our silly questions on the phone to the handover of the boat & training the staff where brilliant. The boat was great, and we had a fantastic holiday. This was our first canal boat holiday as a family and we will be back, and we will be coming back to Foxhangers - highly recommended

Captain Chris Gunton, Foxtrot

Thank you Foxhangers ! Following a simple but effective handover with Mike on the Friday, to returning the boat on the Monday, everything was excellent and very professional.

Captain Mr D Johnson , Foxtrot

A group of 11 had a great weekend on Foxtrot and FoxTalbot. Both boats are fantastically equipped, spacious (for a narrow boat) and in very good working order. The Information provided at the start enabled us to make a very good plan that suited our group well. All in all a very good weekend.

Captain Mr Price, Foxtrot

We have just returned from a week long holiday on Foxtrot. From the very first phone call to the handover on day 1, I found the customer service top drawer. The Kennet and Avon canal is beautiful and well worth a trip. In doing so I can highly recommend doing this aboard a Foxhangers craft, with the backing of their customer service and professional handover, it will instil confidence even to the inexperienced. Thank you for a great holiday experience.

Captain Mark Draddy, Foxtrot

Great holiday staff all friendly. We went with 3 adults, 1 10 month boy and 1 dog, the suggestion of removing the double mattress and putting travel con worked very well. Dog enjoyed trip fresh place to walk every day. See Picture of Boris the barge dog looking for ducks

Captain Mr & Mrs Wort, Foxtrot

To everyone at Foxhangers We cannot thank you enough for our fantastic weekend break. From the extremely cheery welcome at Reception, to the beautiful narrow boat, via the efficient induction, we all enjoyed the experience enormously. The wine and chocolates were a lovely touch, as was the provision of more than one loo roll! In fact the boat was very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. Thank you for arranging such marvellous weather as well.

Captain Mrs Julie Carlisle, Foxtrot

Foxtrot was clean and well maintained. Staff were exactly as I’ve come to expect from narrow boat holiday companies - friendly and helpful - even drove out to intercept us when we left the yard on the first day without out ‘how to’/information folder. Bath and back in four nights was easily done and it's a lovely route. Would recommend Foxhangers to everyone.

Captain Simon Bebbington, Foxtrot

We had two boats Cunning Fox and Foxtrot for a family group of 16 over a long weekend in August. Only three people had previous experience on narrow boats but that did not matter and by the end of the weekend we had two new budding skippers. The size of the boats were just right for what we wanted, although we were full up we all seemed to have plenty of space, the boats are very well designed, clean and well equipped, and Foxhangers could not have been more helpful. With such a big group we tended to eat our main meals at pubs and there was plenty of choice but the Brewery at Seend did us proud, having booked ahead for the first evening. The trip down to Bradford and back was just right giving everyone enough to do in terms of locks and swing bridges, the verdict was that it was all great fun and worth repeating.

Captain Mr Garth Long , Foxtrot

Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly reception staff and sent down to the boat yard to collect our boat Foxtrot. We were then given a demonstration of how to operate a lock and a full run down of the boat including safety tips and the best places to stop for food and mooring on the way. Once complete we were given a lesson in steering the boat and how to stop it and then we were on our way, we had the boat form 3pm Friday to 9am Monday we managed to make it to Bath by Saturday afternoon and back to Devizes on the Sunday, the Foxhangers staff had warned us that Bath was a 10 boat away and they were spot on we set off at 10am and moored up 15 mins form Foxhangers at 8pm we only stopped for locks and to fill with water. The whole weekend was a blast though with everyone trying their hand as skipper, some more successfully than others. The boat itself was very well kitted out with enough space for the 6 of us and all the amenities needed. I will defiantly be contacting Foxhangers again in the future as it was the perfect way to spend the weekend!

Captain Mr M Duggard, Foxtrot

Absolutely fantastic weekend. We spent the weekend on Foxtrot which was very well kitted out & reliable. My brother and I plus two friends (all experienced canal boaters) left Foxhangers on a Friday evening and had a very enjoyable cruise up to the Aqueduct just beyond Bradford-On-Avon (including a night out in Bath via Rail), The boat was fantastic and Foxhangers were brilliant, we couldn't have asked for more. My brother enjoyed a final night fishing near the Devizes Camping and Caravanning club and the Stout is interesting at The Three Magpies pub :-) A+++ We'll definitely book again.

Captain Mr Castle, Foxtrot

We took Foxtrot out for the week 3rd - 10th April. Fantastic time and so lucky with the weather. Once again, Foxhangers delivered us a lovely boat, clean, comfortable and homely for our holiday. Great company, great people. We will be back.

Captain Mr & Mrs Jones, Foxtrot

Fantastic weekend. Foxhangers staff were very friendly and professional in showing us around the boats and then left us to our own devices. The boats were excellent quality and perfectly equipped for the weekend. Would certainly recommend. A massive thank you to the team at Foxhangers!

Captain Mr Pelly, Foxtrot

The staff at Foxhangers are friendly and helpful, we couldn’t have asked for better customer service. The boats were clean, tidy and well presented with everything you could need on board and more. The hand over of the boats to us at the start of our holiday left everyone in our party feeling confident that they could operate locks, bridges and the boats well. Added to that the fact that Foxhangers is located on a truly beautiful stretch of canal we had a really relaxing, interesting and comfortable family holiday which we hope to repeat some day!

Captain Jemma Nicholls, Foxtrot

We had the most fantastic week on Foxtrot. The briefing given at the beginning was excellent and even though we had boat experience, Richard made sure we were completely and fully briefed before we left not only with the boat but with the operation of the locks too. I was completely bowled over by the facilities available on the boat which far surpassed many of the holiday rentals I have done in the past. All the equipment you could wish for was available in the kitchen, including sharp knives and an oven, grill and hob which was home from home. The beds were small but very comfortable and warm. Most importantly the boat had been beautifully cleaned and credit must go to the cleaners for such a thorough job. All in all we would without doubt recommend Foxhangers as a company to hire a narrow boat from. I don't think that all other companies can give such thorough and complete inductions judging by the way some of the locks were treated by others we met on route. All in all a perfect holiday which far surpassed our expectations and was great fun. Enjoyed by my 12 and 15 year old children also and one I am sure we will repeat in the future. Many thanks to all staff for your exemplary service, from booking to boating to handing it all back. A seamless operation and credit to all of you for your customer service skills.

Captain Bundle, Foxtrot

Thanks to Foxhanger boats, we had a wonderful four days on Foxtrot, in glorious summer-like September weather (weren't we lucky?!). Your staff were so courteous and helpful, both on our departure and also when we arrived back, and the boat itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and ran smoothly, without any problems. We have already unreservedly recommended you to one of our friends and will do so to others. We, too, will also hope to come back for another visit.

Captain Barry & Elizabeth Rose, Foxtrot
